Due to the tremendous cost of adopting $30,000 +, we are asking our family and friends for assistance.

To fund our dream of creating a family, we have begun to make sacrifices and adjustments to our current lifestyle.  Some simple changes we are making are in regards to our “fun” money, such as taking trips to sporting events or weekend getaways.  This money will now be diverted to our adoption fund.  We are also making basic changes to our lives, like cutting out various “extras” that aren’t necessary such as cable TV.  Yes, that means that Jim has even agreed to give up his precious DirecTV with NFL Sunday Ticket.  He literally has not missed a Steelers game in 7 years, so this coming season will be quite difficult for him to manage.  Parts of our future incomes have already been allotted for the purpose of the adoption, but as many of you may already know, we don’t actually have a lot of free money.  We both have good jobs, but with necessities, student loans, and the various monthly medical expenses that we both have, we have never really been able to put a lot of money away.  Obviously, had we known a few years ago that this would be the route we were going to take to start a family, we would have made changes sooner—but like Jim’s dad has always said, “if you wait to have children until you can afford it, you’ll never have them.”

The picture above shows a completed puzzle.  This puzzle will be broken down and "sold" piece by piece.  By sponsoring a piece, your donation will go directly to our adoption expenses. We have a large amount of money that needs to be raised before we can take certain steps.  We are asking for a $30 donation per piece, or more if you are so inclined, to help us piece together our family puzzle. If you donate, your name would go on the back of a puzzle piece like the picture below.  When all pieces are sold, the puzzle with be put back together and permanently sealed.  When viewed from the back, the puzzle will contain the names of all the people who helped make our dream a reality so that our child will forever know who took part in this life-changing journey.
